Ao Nang, Krabi

April 8-9, 2009. Our journey to Ao Nang, Krabi started with a misadventure at the KL Sentral terminal. We almost (!) missed the sleeper train when I failed to double-check the schedule in our tickets. The station guards had to stop the moving train for us, so we managed to get on it in the nick of time. Haha! It was hilarious and definitely one of the highlights of our backpacking trip.
The island beaches in Ao Nang are beautiful. We booked an island tour package for only 390 baht which consisted of hotel transfer, long-tail boat ride, lunch, use of snorkeling gears and local insurance. Our destinations included:
Poda Island – a small island covered in palm trees and encircled by a soft white sand beach.
Chicken Island – an island that looks like a chicken (or turkey!). We went snorkeling in this island.
Tub Island – a crystal clear white sand beach with lots of fish. There’s also a sandy causeway joining the neighboring island during low tide.
